Frequently asked questions.

  • The first session focuses on building trust. We’ll clarify what’s bringing you in, explore your goals and current challenges, and discuss your personal history, relationships, and support systems. This helps us establish a clear direction for our work together and create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and grounded.

In ongoing sessions, we may explore how your experiences, emotions, and patterns show up in relationships and within yourself. Sessions often include reflection, conversation, and awareness-based practices that help deepen self-understanding and support meaningful change.

My work is relational and trauma-informed, influenced by psychodynamic, feminist, and narrative approaches, and guided by anti-oppressive values. I also draw from frameworks such as Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and I am professionally trained in the Wheel of Consent to support communication, boundaries, and connection in relationships of all kinds.

As a student member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association working toward my Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC) designation, my services are offered under professional supervision.

I encourage clients to maintain ongoing therapeutic support with a licensed mental health professional if they are navigating complex trauma or mental health concerns outside of my scope.

  • My services are for adults of all ages and genders.

I welcome people who are exploring their identity and want access to a safe space for self-discovery and expansion.

I do not work with children or youth.

  • Yes, I work with couples who want support understanding patterns in their relationship, particularly around intimacy, conflict, desire, and emotional connection.

Some people come to my work after encountering psychoanalytic or relational approaches to couples therapy, including work that focuses on patterns, emotional meaning, and what unfolds between partners over time. My approach is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic and relational thinking, with an emphasis on curiosity, reflection, and understanding how relationship dynamics are shaped rather than quickly fixed.

This kind of work often appeals to couples who want more than tools or communication strategies, and who are interested in making sense of what keeps repeating between them.

  • Unfortunately sessions are currently not covered in Canada, even if you were referred to me by a medical professional.

However, I am currently in training to obtain a designation which will allow me to accept extended health benefits in BC by early 2026.

To increase the accessibility of my services, sessions are priced on a sliding scale using the Green Bottle model. Please contact me before booking if you self-identify with tiers 1-2 on that sliding scale.

Sliding scales thrive on trust, I do not ask for verification and I trust my clients to be honest in their assessment of their economic reality.

  • Yes, I am currently accepting new clients for both in-person sessions in Comox and online appointment.
