About Mia
I blend sex education with a therapeutic lens, supporting people in exploring intimacy, embodiment, and relationships in ways that feel safe and authentic. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and rooted in both science and lived experience. I aim to help clients move beyond performance or goals, toward deeper connection with themselves and others.
-
My background is in Sex Education and Somatics, and I am currently a student member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association working toward a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling designation.
I have experience and specialized training in affirmative sex, consent, boundaries, STBBI prevention, gender-affirming care, trauma-informed practice, crisis intervention, restorative conflict resolution, and addiction recovery support. -
Influenced by psychodynamic therapy and informed by a decade of personal engagement with psychoanalytic work, I practice with both directness and compassion, paying attention to how past experiences, unconscious patterns, and cultural narratives continue to shape my clients’ lives today. I bring a cross-cultural lens, drawing from both Canadian and European approaches.
-
My practice welcomes adults of all physical abilities, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and genders.

What people are saying
Mia and I met during a training in Seattle and I noticed right away how grounded, genuine and skilled she was. Her level of care, integrity and the way she listens really stood out.
As a fellow practitioner I’ve been consistently impressed by her. She’s one of the most well informed and thoughtful people I know in our field.
— Jacklyn Joy Byrd, MS, LPC, NCC
I’ve known Mia for years, and she’s honestly one of the easiest people to talk to about relationships and intimacy. She’s welcoming and safe to talk to, really well trained, and just super solid at what she does.
